It is amazing how Nokia keeps releasing new models designed for specific target market. It is even more amazing to see how the released models – at least 80% of them – are very successful and quite popular among mobile phone users. For those of you who simply love Nokia phones, there is a new model coming up soon: the Nokia X2-01.

Although most Nokia phones are specifically targeted for a certain market segment, I really have to say that the Nokia X2-01 is an all-rounder. It has a QWERTY keyboard just like the Nokia E71 and E63, allowing you to type text messages quickly and easily. The keyboard itself is designed to suit most mobile phone users’ typing habit.

However, those of you expecting high-end phones must really seek other Nokia alternative. The Nokia X2-01 is designed to be very cheap although it does offer tons of features basic mobile phone users will enjoy. It has a basic VGA camera with video recording capability, so you can still take snapshots and upload the pictures straight to your favorite social networking sites.

The X2-01 supports EDGE data connectivity class 32, along with Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP and standard microUSB v2.0. For a basic phone, the connectivity options offered by the Nokia X2-01 is certainly more than enough. You can also expand the internal 55MB memory by adding a microSD card; you can increase the storage space to up to 8GB. As always, the Nokia X2-01 also offers stereo FM radio with RDS.
